Executive Team


Jeff Ausbrook –  Partner

Jeff Ausbrook is a founding partner of J4 Development, LP. His knowledge and management of construction operations and re-development set the foundation for the successful growth of the Company over the last decade. His efforts have been concentrated on providing a full complement of construction and acquisition services for a national client base of apartment owners, developers and management companies.

As Partner, Jeff has been instrumental in J4’s strategic direction, business planning and development. He has assembled sales and operations staff capable of continued fast pace growth.

Jeff stresses to all employees the importance of planning, accurate budgeting, realistic schedules, open lines of communication and most of all creating a culture of “Whatever It Takes.”

Chris Darby –  Partner

Chris Darby is a founding partner of J4 Development, LP. His designed sales and marketing plan resulted in a nationally recognized multi-family construction firm with a growth in annual revenue from $1 million to $43 million in 14 years. His background in manufacturing and operations management have sustain the Company from a local based business into one providing services to 33 states from coast to coast.

As Partner, Chris created banking relationships to secure and grow an operational line of credit. Additionally, he initiated annual audited financial reporting to support internal financial results.

Chris holds an MBA from the University of North Texas.

Scott Schucany –  CFO

Scott joined J4 Development in early 2017. Prior to joining J4, Scott oversaw financial operations for a variety of companies within several different sectors including, construction, family wealth management, property management, aviation and government contracting. His many years of experience in finance and background in a variety of different industries make him an invaluable asset to J4’s team as we position our Company for future growth opportunities.

Scott earned his BBA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and is a licensed C.P.A.

Dustin Bailey –  Executive Vice President

Dustin joined J4 after operating his own award-winning construction business working in new and luxury home building as well as managing small to large scale remodeling projects. In 2018 Dustin was promoted to Vice President of Construction, his leadership of our field operations and Project Managers was critical as the Company worked to organize and streamline operations in order to be able to take on additional growth opportunities.

Dustin’s extensive experience and wealth of knowledge about the industry and our Company make him the perfect fit to provide leadership across our organization and make sure we consistently uphold the company motto of “Whatever it Takes.”

Mike Hatfield  –  VP of Pre-Construction

Mike joined J4 after retiring from a public service role in the DFW Metroplex.  Mike’s experience in public service has proven to be crucial in the successful completion of over 30 million in rehabilitation.  Mike has been flexible in several roles and capacities while with j4 and has been instrumental in keeping the Company updated with the latest technology and app enabled software to ensure that clients are informed of key information related to scheduling, materials, and close out of both rehab and new construction.

Mike’s recent promotion to VP of Pre – Construction will allow J4 to continue to refine processes and allow Mike to manage and grow the Project Engineering Department to provide high level service to current and future clients.

Mike earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Associates Degree from Liberty University.

Jerry Savoie  –  VP of  New Construction

Jerry brings over 30 years of experience in the management and construction of numerous multi-million-dollar multi-family communities, military housing, government housing, senior living and healthcare facilities.  Jerry has completed projects in numerous locations around the country and cultivated many strong relationships with both local and state governments as well as developing a deep trade database of qualified subcontractors while continuing to grow the qualified subcontractor database to keep up with the rapid growth of the company.

Jerry’s secret to success – flexibility, trustworthiness, and willingness to take on challenges make him an asset to the J4 Team.

JD Wilson –  VP of Construction

JD Wilson has over two decades of cumulative knowledge and experience in the single family and multi family construction industry. Prior to J4, JD had been in a partnership building custom homes he has also held key roles at distinguished production homebuilding companies in DFW, managing multiple communities and construction projects.  JD was personally responsible for the construction of over 450 homes and managed the construction process for almost 1500 homes across DFW.

JD’s exceptional attention to details and processes of all facets of construction have established him as a leader and he pushes his team to provide world class service so that they can maximize the potential of our Company.

Erin Hill –  Human Resources Manager

Erin joined J4 in 2013 to work on streamlining Company policies/procedures, benefits and payroll. She has worked to put the right personnel foundation in place to assist the Company with its hiring and employee needs as J4 has grown and expanded. Prior to coming to J4 Erin spent 10 years working in Human Resources in the mining and manufacturing industries. Her areas of expertise are labor/employee relations, contract negotiations and benefits.

Erin graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, she also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
